One of the worst defenses I've seen. Scary bad. Lovejoy lol. And Greene slowing. Yeesh.

Do you think Shero will try to keep the same team so we can suck to get a high pick next season or is he trying to get out of the basement ASAP? From what I can tell next seasons draft will be pretty damn good.

We're not getting shatty. I think we'll mak a medium move for a medium player, and ride out the season and get another top pick.

I don't think any GM goes into the offseason with the intent of sucking the following season. That being said I wouldn't have high hopes for next season.

Not upset about losing Merrill. Hopefully Shero gets Bennett signed. Next big move is what Shero can get for Kovy. I really don't want to see team tank but rather see Shero wait until next year to make a splash in free agency. No current UfA is really worth the price tAg. Let's bring back Stevens to work with young D. End of the year let's try to move Greene (getting past his prime) and Cammy (if healthy could be useful for playoff team) for youth or draft picks. 2018 is when Shero should make significant moves.

I can guarantee that won't be their D at the start of the year... too much fluidity in the D market for Shero not to strike another deal with someone.

The #3 Dallas spot isn't safe... I think they're going to pry a D from the VGK for a bumpback or maybe lose the place altogether for Shea Theodore. But Methot is going to be a real want from Dallas...

That deal with Min... Haula and Tuch over Dumba? What a joke. And taking Lindberg over Raanta... ouch. When they have goaltending problems in three years because they took a guy who posted a back-up goalie save% at 5.75M/y and a couple of fringed goaltenders (Pickard only a fringed NHL starter)... I'll be laughing my head off because Raanta will be the starting goaltender in NYR and out of the four goalies, actually posted starting goaltender stats.

GMGM made some good deals (Theodore, Marchessault) and some really, really bad ones... esp. with the Islanders. The guys they could have stripped from them were better than that 1st pick.

No there's not; they're no longer forced to trade a D, and they're not going to now that Theodore is gone.

We'll see by Saturday what happens.

I wouldn't be surprised if Shero rolls with this roster

I have to admit to being disappointed. All this talk about expansion draft trade possibilities with the salary cap room and pffffft, nothing worth getting excited about. And now that you can skirt the salary cap with a lame excuse about allergies (seriously it only becomes unbearable/medically unsafe when he is scheduled to make $1 million), it makes responsible teams look silly. And now no longer with a second second rounder and no fourth rounder but a fifth instead, I don't see much action at the draft.
